How to play Eight Stops

Eight London Underground stations. Eight categories. Lower is better.

1. Meet a station

   Each board reveals one station at a time. You cannot see the later stations in advance.

2. Choose an unused category

   Place the station where you think it ranks best. Categories include the number of Tube lines, fare zone and station name length. Tap the information icon for the exact definition.

3. Add its rank to your score

   Rank #7 adds seven points. Once placed, a station cannot move and its category cannot be used again. Equal measurements share a rank: 1, 2, 2, 4.

4. Finish all eight and share

   The lowest total is best. Results show the best two-station swap and the best possible arrangement with hindsight. Share the score pattern without revealing stations.

When does the daily game reset?

At midnight in London, including daylight saving changes. Complete a daily on its London date to build your streak. Starter practice boards do not affect it. There is no timer.
